How to make a 24×24 BMP guild emblem for R2

This R2 guild emblem maker converts a logo or drawing to 24 pixels wide, 24 pixels high and 24-bit BMP, then downloads it as gmark.bmp, the filename in the Korean publisher guide. You do not need to set the size or bit depth in Paint. If your browser adds a number to repeated downloads, restore the filename before using the client. Compare the original image, the actual 24×24 result, an enlarged view and an illustrative guild window before downloading to catch details that become unclear at a small size.

Images are processed by Canvas in your browser without being uploaded to a server. A rectangular image starts with a centered square crop. Use the zoom and horizontal and vertical position sliders to center the important part. Even if the input PNG is transparent, 24-bit BMP has no alpha channel, so those pixels are composited over the background color you choose. The preview shows the same opaque result as the download.

When this tool is needed

  • Creating an R2 emblem in the 24×24 BMP format from the publisher guide

  • Repairing an outline or broken line after reducing an image
  • Checking whether a small guild symbol remains recognizable

Before you start

  • Check that you have permission to use the logo or drawing.
  • Long text and thin lines may become unreadable at 24 pixels.
  • Choose a background color for the empty areas of a transparent PNG.
  • Check your current regional R2 client guide for folders and registration menus.

How to use

  1. Choose an original PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP with the image button or drop area. You can also reopen a gmark.bmp made here.
  2. Compare the original with the actual 24×24 preview to check that the main symbol is recognizable.
  3. Adjust zoom and horizontal and vertical position to choose the square crop.
  4. If any areas are transparent, choose the background fill color for the output.
  5. Refine the outline with the pen, background-color eraser and eyedropper.
  6. Check the actual 24×24 result and the illustrative guild view as well as the enlarged image.
  7. Select Download gmark.bmp to request the 24-bit BMP file.
  8. For a client that uses the Korean guide procedure, copy the file into the gmark folder under the R2 installation and follow its registration steps. Confirm the procedure for your region.

Making an emblem readable at 24×24

A 24×24 image holds less detail than its enlarged preview suggests. Use one clear shape, such as a letter, shield, sword or wing, and keep a strong brightness contrast between it and the background. Thin outlines can break when an image is reduced. Add a pixel of thickness in the editor where needed, then judge the actual 24×24 preview again.

Transparency and background color

The Korean R2 guide specifies24-bit BMP, which has no alpha transparency. This page therefore does not assume a particular color key. Empty PNG areas are composited over the selected background, and the eraser uses that same color. Try white, black and a color that contrasts with the guild interface, then compare the actual-size preview. Whether a game client interprets any color as transparent is a separate client rule.

Final checks before using the game client

The requested download name is gmark.bmp, with a fixed size of 24×24 and 24-bit color. Your browser may add a number such as gmark (1).bmp if the file already exists. Check the filename before placing it in a client folder. Images that breach game rules or use someone else's trademark, character or artwork without permission may cause restrictions or disputes. The Korean R2 guild-mark guide and Korean R2 operating policy describe that service. Your region or server may use a different registration procedure.

This tool creates a local 24×24 BMP emblem file for R2. Registration and in-game display depend on the current regional client, guild permissions and server policy.

FAQ

What file format does an R2 guild emblem use?

The Korean R2 publisher guide specifies a 24×24 pixel, 24-bit BMP. This tool creates gmark.bmp in that format. Check your current regional client requirements before registering it.

Must the filename be gmark.bmp?

The Korean guide uses gmark.bmp. Toolvil requests that download name, but your browser may append a number such as gmark (1).bmp when a file already exists. Rename it to gmark.bmp before following a client procedure that requires that name.

Will a transparent PNG remain transparent in the BMP?

No alpha channel is saved in 24-bit BMP. Transparent areas are composited over your selected background fill color. Check that final background in the preview; any game-specific color-key behavior is separate.

Are my uploaded emblem images stored on a server?

No. Image reading, 24×24 conversion, pixel editing and BMP generation run in your browser. Toolvil does not send the original image or result to its server.

Where should I put the downloaded R2 emblem?

The Korean R2 guide uses gmark.bmp in the gmark folder below the game installation. Follow your current regional client guide if its folders, upload method or menus differ. This tool does not register the image in the game.
