For an existing design, keep the output size the same as the original and leave background color removal off. Only transparent parts are changed to the black key. Turn on candidate background color removal only when removing a solid-color background from a photo. If the tolerance value is large, similar colors of the main body can also be removed. Automatic background detection and the eyedropper turn removal on.

How to make Lineage Classic clan emblems

The Lineage clan emblem generator is a web tool that converts an image to be used as a Lineage Classic clan crest into a 24x18 or 16x12 pixel 24-bit BMP. We set it up so that a user searching for how to make a Lineage clan mark can finish, on one screen, the process they actually need, that is, selecting the source image, size conversion that keeps the ratio, checking the black key, pixel-by-pixel correction, and a check before the BMP download. Even without installing Photoshop, Paint, or a separate BMP conversion program, you can select PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, and a BMP made by this tool, then compare the original, the actual size, the enlarged preview, and the expected in-game display.

The conversion process is processed in the current browser without uploading to a server. Fill and crop keeps the original ratio and crops the parts that extend beyond, and Fit entire image preserves the entire original and leaves the leftover area as margin. With zoom and horizontal and vertical movement, you can set the position to keep in the small result. When detecting the edge background color, transparent pixels are excluded, and when conversion is on, transparent and semi-transparent pixels are changed to the black key. Background colors within the tolerance range are also changed only when you choose to remove background candidate colors as well. When conversion is off, the alpha is composited onto a white background. After automatic conversion, you can directly correct the 192 or 432 pixels of the selected size with the pen, eraser, and color extraction, undo or restore to the uploaded state, and then download the BMP file.

When you need this tool

  • When you want to quickly convert an existing image with the Lineage clan emblem generator for Lineage Classic
  • When you need a 24x18 BMP for Lineage Classic, or the existing 16x12 BMP
  • When you want to preview the feel of the actual in-game display of a small icon to be used as a clan crest
  • When you want to compare the original and the converted result right away in a PC or mobile browser

Check before download

  • The size is 24x18 or 16x12, and the output format is 24-bit BMP. Distinguish and check whether NC's official size range and the file format actually apply.
  • On a small clan crest, simple shapes and contrast show up better than letters.
  • If you need to use black on the body of the mark, it is safer to use a color slightly lighter than pure black.
  • The game client's folder, registration command, and permissions can differ by server or version, so check before applying.

How to use

  1. Load the source image to use for the clan mark with the Select image button or the drop area.
  2. Choose Fill and crop or Fit entire image, and set the composition to keep with zoom and horizontal and vertical movement.
  3. Choose the output size and compare the original, the actual size, the enlarged BMP pixels, and the expected in-game display.
  4. For an existing design, turn off background color removal and keep the original size. To remove the background of a photo, turn on removal of background candidate colors and adjust the tolerance.
  5. In the pixel editor, use the pen, eraser, and color extraction to refine blurry outlines and leftover background.
  6. If the image needs black in the body of the mark, turn off background transparency key conversion or use a very dark gray instead of black.
  7. Check again whether the symbol is recognizable at the actual size as well, and whether the outline does not get smeared.
  8. If the preview is suitable, save the 24-bit BMP file with the Download BMP button.

Which size do you choose between 24x18 and 16x12?

24x18 is 432 pixels, and 16x12 is 192 pixels. When you create a new one at the maximum size in the Lineage Classic guide, choose 24x18. When you keep the pixel arrangement of an existing design as it is, choose 16x12. You can edit each size separately, and when you come back, the edits and placement settings for that size are restored. If you upload a new file or reset, both jobs are cleared. Complex photos, thin borders, and long text almost disappear during downscaling, so it is better to make one core silhouette large for use as a clan crest. The enlarged preview is for checking pixel boundaries, and it is safe to base the actual judgment on the selected actual size and the expected in-game display side.

Caution when handling the black transparency key

Because 24-bit BMP has no alpha transparency channel, this tool provides an optional feature that changes transparent and semi-transparent pixels and candidate background colors to the black key. The size cap and the registration flow were confirmed in the official NC guide, but the binary conditions for 24-bit BMP and the black transparency key are not specified. This tool does not assert that its output format and transparency key option are the official specification of every client. The actual way to apply it must follow the current client and server guidance, and if black is needed on the crest body, turn the conversion off and test, or use a dark gray slightly lighter than pure black.

Sequence for using the pixel editor

Reinforce broken outlines in the automatic downscale result with the pen, and stamp the black key on the remaining background with the eraser. If you want to continue drawing with an existing color as it is, choose color pick. If you want to erase a background color different from the automatic detection, choose the background eyedropper. On mobile, you can view one cell large with the 2× precision view and the screen-move tool, then tap or drag. On a keyboard, you can move the cursor with the arrow keys and then press Enter to apply the current tool.

  2. Press BMP download to save the file, and organize it with an easy-to-recognize name made of English letters and numbers.
  3. Open the folder where the actual game is installed and copy the file into the Emblem folder inside it. If you changed the install location, use that location.
  4. In the game, press the community button or Ctrl+C, then go to clan settings.

When it is missing from the list or the mark looks different

Toolvil provides file creation and preview. It does not check game account access or actual crest registration success on your behalf, and bit count and transparency key conditions that are not in the official guide must be tested on the current client.

FAQ

Which emblem specifications apply to Lineage Classic?

The official NC Lineage Classic clan guide describes an image of 24x18 pixels or smaller. In this tool you can choose 24x18 and the existing 16x12, and both are within the size range. The output is 24-bit BMP. The official guide does not go so far as to state the bit count and the black transparency key conditions, so check the actual registration result on the current client.

Is the uploaded image sent to the server?

No. The image is read and converted only inside the current browser. It is processed on the canvas without a server upload, and then the user downloads the BMP file directly.

Can I make a Lineage clan emblem without Photoshop?

Yes. If you select a PNG, JPG, WebP, or GIF image, you can go through checking the real 24x18 or 16x12 size, an enlarged preview, pixel-level pen, eraser, and color pick, and downloading a 24-bit BMP, without a separate graphics program.

How is the background transparency key handled?

Because 24-bit BMP has no alpha channel like PNG, turning conversion on changes transparent and semi-transparent pixels to the black key. Removing candidate background colors is a separate option, and the default is off, so the opaque colors of the existing design are preserved. Whether black is interpreted as transparent needs to be checked according to the client environment, and it is safe to test the black of the mark body with a slightly lighter color such as #010101 or #0A0A0A.

How do I apply the downloaded BMP file in the game?

Following the official NC Lineage Classic guide, place the image in the Emblem folder inside the game installation folder. In the game, go to Community (Ctrl+C) → clan settings → emblem settings, preview it, and then apply the change. On the official permission chart, emblem settings are a monarch privilege. For other Lineage versions or servers, check the guide for that version or server.
