Privacy Policy
Toolvil does not require login or sign-up to use the tools. Calculation input values are processed in the browser, and only the minimal behavior metrics needed to judge product quality are measured separately, without the input content.
Local processing of input values
- Values entered in calculators and converters are calculated only inside the current browser, and are not transmitted to or stored on the Toolvil server. The only exception is the single address search query of the English address converter described below in "External transmission and tracking".
- Images, text, and files uploaded in the image ratio calculator, the character counter, Base64, the JSON formatter, and similar tools are read only locally with FileReader in the browser and are not uploaded to the server.
- Input values and results are one-time data that disappear when the page is refreshed or closed.
External transmission and tracking
- Input values are not sent to an external API for tool calculations. As the only exception, the English address converter, in order to find an English address, forwards only the Hangul address search query from the search box, through the Toolvil server (
/api/address/search), to the English address search API of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety Address-Based Industry Support Service. The search query and the results are not stored or logged, and only the result of the same search query is cached on the CDN for up to one day. The detailed address, the building name, and copying are processed only in the browser, and the recipient's name and phone number are not accepted as input. If more tools that use external data are added, that is stated on the corresponding page. - Free Hangul font preview does not send the sentence you enter to the server and draws it only in the browser. However, to show the font appearance, when the page is opened or a font is chosen, the browser receives font files from the public CDN jsDelivr (
cdn.jsdelivr.net), and at that time connection information (IP address, browser information, and similar) is passed to jsDelivr. Hangul fonts are divided into pieces by character range, so only the piece that contains the characters used in the sentence is requested. That request follows jsDelivr's policy, and Toolvil does not receive that record. - Make a 2027 calendar PDF creates the calendar graphic and the PDF only in the browser, and does not send or store the entered schedule and settings on the server. However, to print the calendar text in the same appearance, the font file (Pretendard) is received from the public CDN jsDelivr (
cdn.jsdelivr.net), and at that time connection information (IP address, browser information, and similar) is passed to jsDelivr. The font is divided into pieces by character range, so only the piece that contains the characters used in the calendar is requested, that request follows jsDelivr's policy, and Toolvil does not receive that record. - HTML live editor does not send the code you enter to the server and runs it only in the browser's sandbox preview. However, if you put external image, script, or font addresses directly in the code, the browser sends requests to the servers at those addresses, and those requests follow the policies of those servers.
- To use the tools, personally identifiable information such as a name, email, phone number, or member ID is not required and is not put in events.
- The site may use standard meta tags, such as search engine ownership verification, but this is unrelated to tool input values.
Minimal behavior analysis
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand whether visitors can use tools and complete calculations. Google Signals and advertising signals are disabled, and the Consent Mode values for ad storage, ad user data and personalization remain denied. Only after you allow analytics do we set analytics_storage to granted and load the Google tag. Google may then create analytics cookies (the _ga family, for up to 2 years). The tag does not load before a choice or after refusal.
- The measured items are the page path, the page title, and the event names
tool_start,result_ready,validation_error,result_copy,result_download,result_share, andrelated_tool_click. - Numbers, sentences, files, and images entered in a calculator, calculated result values, button text, and search terms are not sent as event parameters.
- If Global Privacy Control (GPC) is turned on in the browser, the Google tag itself is not loaded.
- This data is used only to set quality improvement priorities by comparing the per-page result completion rate relative to starts and the rates of copying, downloading, sharing, and moving to related tools.
Google may process technical information needed for measurement requests, such as timestamp, user agent and referrer. You can change your choice using Analytics settings at the bottom of the page. Your choice is stored in this browser’s local storage. Declining stops analytics and prevents the tag from loading on later pages. When GPC is enabled, its signal takes precedence. Existing cookies can be deleted in your browser. Tool functions are unaffected. See the Google Consent Mode guide and Google Privacy Policy.
Information received by inquiry email
If you send a tool request, an error report, or a privacy inquiry by email, the sender's email address and the email content are received. This information is used only to reply and to review the request, and it is not used to send advertising or promotional email or sold or provided elsewhere. It is deleted within 1 year after the reply and the review are finished, and if you want it deleted even before then, please request it at the same address.
- Entrustment of processing and overseas transfer: Receipt and storage of email are entrusted to the email service Zoho Mail. As soon as an email is sent, it is transmitted over the network to Zoho's data center in the United States and stored there.
- Recipient: Zoho Corporation (privacy inquiries privacy@zohocorp.com) · Country of transfer: United States · Items transferred: email address and email content · Purpose: receiving and storing inquiry email · Retention period: until the deletion time stated above
Users' rights and how to exercise them
You can request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing at any time for your own personal information that Toolvil holds (inquiry email). If you request it at contact@toolvil.com, your identity is confirmed from the address you sent from, and then it is processed without delay and you are informed of the result. Tool input values are not stored on the server, so there is no separate item to request, and analytics cookies can be refused by the method described above in "Minimal behavior analysis".
Destruction and safety measures
Inquiry email whose retention period has ended, or for which deletion was requested, is erased from both the mailbox and the trash so that it cannot be recovered. The email account is used by only one operator and is protected with 2-step authentication.
