Hole centers are 6.5mm from the edge, and the diameter is 5.5mm. If you print one side only, the holes on every page are on the left. If you print the front and back, odd pages have holes on the left and even pages have holes on the right. Each product differs a little: use the hole-position test print to match it.

Guide to making printable planner inserts: print inserts that fit a 6-ring binder on A4
With a binder planner you only need to swap the inserts each year, but store-bought refill inserts have fixed sizes and layouts, so the combination you want is hard to find. This tool draws 6-ring planner inserts in millimeters to the A5, A6, personal (Bible), and pocket sizes, and downloads a PDF you can print right away on the A4 printer you have at home. It adds a cover, a to-do, a habit tracker, and notes to the yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily inserts, bundles them into one file, and also marks the hole positions and the cut lines.
The combination people use most is ready as soon as you open it. The setting imposes an A5 6-ring monthly + weekly set (1 yearly page, 12 pages of the 2027 monthly planner, 53 pages of the vertical weekly planner) at 2 pages per A4 sheet and prints on one side only. Change only the size card and the composition chips and it becomes inserts for your binder, such as an A6 weekly or an undrilled A5 monthly, and then you just press Download PDF.
Use it at times like these
- When you fill a new 2027 6-ring planner: print 12 A5 monthly sheets, a yearly plan, and 1 year of weekly pages at once, and put them in the binder.
- When you need weekly inserts for an A6 or pocket planner you carry with you: impose the 53 weeks of 1 year at 4 pages per A4 sheet and save paper.
- When the planner starts in a month other than January: under Other period, set the start month and the number of months (up to 14 months), or add an undated monthly planner.
- When you mix purpose-specific inserts such as a study planner, a habit log, and meeting notes: match the daily planner, to-do, habit tracker, and lined, grid, and dot notes to the same size.
Check before printing
- Measure the binder insert size and the hole spacing with a ruler. Even the same A5 can differ by 1~2mm from maker to maker.
- To print front and back, check that the printer supports duplex printing (automatic or manual) and that the paper is about 80~100g/㎡. Thin paper shows through on the back.
- Set the scale in the print dialog to 100% (actual size). "Fit to page" shrinks the insert and the hole positions together.
- Have a knife, a paper cutter, and a 6-ring punch ready. If you do not have a punch, you can pierce along the hole marks with an awl or a 1-hole punch.
How to use
- ① Under Size, press a card for A5, A6, personal (Bible), or pocket 6-ring, or the undrilled A5 card. B6, direct input, and 20-ring are in the detailed settings.
- ② Under Composition, choose one of monthly, monthly + weekly set, weekly, or daily. If a weekly is included, choose the vertical, horizontal, or spread style. The default period is 1 year (2027).
- ③ Under Print method, choose one of n-up on A4 and cut, 1 page at actual size on A4, or enlarge large on A4, and choose print on one side only or print front and back, then check the real arrangement in the preview of the A4 that will be printed.
- After you press Download PDF, choose 100% scale (actual size) in the print dialog. If you are printing front and back, first print only one sheet with the hole-position test print and hold it against the binder to see whether the front and back holes line up.
- If the holes match, print the rest, cut along the cut lines, punch the holes, and put the pages in the binder.
Insert size and 6-ring hole spacing by format
The spacings in the table are defaults that follow widely used binder and punch sizes. They can differ by 1~2mm from one binder maker to another, so check with the physical binder and then match them using the center hole spacing and the up-and-down adjustment in the detailed settings.
Monthly, weekly, or daily planner: which to choose
The monthly planner shows one month as calendar cells on one page, so you see appointments, deadlines, and anniversaries at a glance. Korean public holidays and substitute holidays for 2027 are included by name and as red days, and you can also turn on the lunar calendar (the first and the fifteenth, or every day). The undated (write-in) monthly planner leaves the date cells blank so you can write the numbers for any month. The weekly planner puts one week on one page. The vertical style sets the day columns side by side, mainly for the schedule. The horizontal style stacks the days in rows and is good for seeing the flow of the week. The spread style splits one week across the left and right pages, so the writing space is wide. The Monday-start 2027 weekly planner is 53 weeks from the week of 2026.12.28 - 2027.1.3, and week numbers can be turned on in the detailed settings.
The daily planner puts a timetable and a to-do area on one page per day, which suits a study planner or a work log. 1 year of daily pages for 2027 is 365 pages and takes time to create, so it is better to split the printing into one or two months at a time under Other period. To-do is a list of checkbox rows. Habit tracker is a chart for marking habits in one month's date cells. Notes are chosen from lined, grid, dot, and blank.
How to print n-up on A4 and front and back
Every page of the PDF is A4 portrait. If you choose n-up on A4 and cut, A5 and B6 are placed at 2 pages per sheet, personal (Bible) at 3 pages per sheet, and A6 and pocket at 4 pages per sheet, at actual size, with a cut line in the center. Pages that have holes are turned toward the center cut line so the hole marks do not fall in the edge margin the printer cannot print. 1 page at actual size on A4 places one insert at actual size in the center of the A4 and adds cut lines at the four corners. Enlarge large on A4 scales the insert up to fit the A4 while keeping the insert ratio, and does not add holes.
The initial setting is print on one side only, so the holes on every page are on the left. Turning on front-and-back printing cuts the paper in half, and it is calculated so odd pages on the front have holes on the left and even pages on the back have holes on the right. In the print dialog, choose duplex "flip on the long edge". If your printer flips upward, switch to front-and-back printing (flip upward). For manual duplex, print all the front sides first, then reload the paper as the printer instructs. "In order when stacked after cutting" in the detailed settings changes the arrangement so that, if you cut the printed stack all at once and then stack the piles in sequence, the page order comes out right.
How to measure my binder's hole spacing
The most accurate way is to open the binder rings, take out one existing insert, and measure it with a ruler. First measure from the center of the top hole to the center of the hole directly below it (usually 19mm), then measure the large gap between the last hole of the upper group and the first hole of the lower group. If this large gap is 70mm it is often an A5 binder, if 51mm a personal (Bible) binder, and if about 38mm an A6 binder. If you also measure the distance from the hole center to the paper edge and the width and height of the insert, you can use those measurements as they are for manual entry and the up-down adjustment.
If the measured value differs from the default by 1mm or more, set the middle hole spacing and the up-down adjustment, then use the hole-position test print to print only one sheet and lay it over the existing insert. The test print includes hole crosshairs, a 50mm ruler, and front and back marks. If the front and back crosshairs overlap at one point when you hold the sheet up to the light, you can print the whole set as it is.
Illustrations and processing
Inserts are drawn with lines and numbers only, without illustrations, so they use less ink and the file is light. If you add a cover, a blank space with a faint border is included where you can attach a photo or a sticker. Settings and content are not sent to a server. The PDF and PNG are created in the current browser.
Hole spacing and insert size are values based on widely used sizes, and the actual print position can differ by 1~2mm depending on the binder manufacturer and the printer settings. Check with the hole-position test print before printing the whole set. Korean public holidays from 2028 onward are provisional labels calculated from the regulations.
Calculation basis and sources
- Calculation scope
- It lays out diary and planner inserts for 6-ring and 20-ring binders in mm and creates vector PDF and PNG files for A4 printing. It does not replace the binder manufacturer's official refill specifications.
- Calculation method
- It places the binding-side margin and the holes on the insert size (ISO 216 A5, A6, and others): 6.5mm from the edge to the center, diameter 5.5mm, and 19mm within a group. Dates are calculated with the same Korean public holiday and substitute holiday logic as the 2027 calendar tool. A4 n-up rotates and places 2, 3, or 4 pages, and puts the hole side toward the center cut line. A4 at actual size, 1 page, places it at actual size in the center and puts cut lines at the corners. A4 large enlargement scales it up while keeping the ratio and removes the holes. With single-sided printing, the holes are on the left of every page. With duplex printing, the back is aligned on the basis of holes on the left of odd pages and on the right of even pages. Lines and numbers are PDF vectors (Helvetica), and the fixed Hangul labels are high-resolution images.
- Limits and disclaimer
- The print position can vary with the printer scale, the duplex settings, and the binder manufacturer. Check with the hole-position test print before printing the whole set.
- Personal information processing
- Inserts are drawn only in the current browser and made into PDF and PNG files, and settings are not sent to a server or stored.

FAQ
How does the hole spacing of 6-ring printable planner inserts differ among A5, A6, personal (Bible), and pocket?
A 6-ring binder is split into two groups of 3 holes, and the center-to-center spacing inside a group is usually 19mm. The difference is the gap between the two middle holes. A5 is 70mm, personal (Bible) is 51mm, A6 is about 38mm, and pocket spaces the 6 holes evenly at 19mm. A5 20-ring spacing is 9.5mm. Even with the same name, companies can differ by 1~2mm, so in the detailed settings you can choose a middle hole spacing of 19, 38, 51, or 70mm and move it up or down by ±3mm. Check it against your physical binder with the hole-position test print, then print.
How do I set it to print A5 and A6 inserts on A4 paper?
If you leave the default setting 'N-up on A4 and cut', A5 fits 2 pages at actual size on one A4 sheet, A6 and pocket fit 4 pages, and personal (Bible) fits 3 pages, with a cut line in the center. '1 page at actual size on A4' places one insert in the center of the A4 sheet and cut lines at the four corners. 'Enlarge on A4' scales the insert up to fit A4 and prints it without holes. In the print dialog, choose A4 paper and scale 100% (actual size). If you print with 'Fit to page', the insert shrinks a little and the hole positions do not match the binder.
I printed double-sided, and the front and back hole positions are misaligned.
The default is single-sided printing, so the holes are on the left (the binding side) of every page. When you turn on front-and-back printing, odd pages keep the holes on the left and even pages put them on the right, and the back is placed for the printer's 'long-edge flip'. If the printer is set to 'short-edge flip', or if you feed the paper the opposite way for manual duplex, the back comes out reversed and the holes do not line up. Set 'Front and back printing (standard)' or 'Front and back printing (flip upward)' to match your printer, and before printing the whole set print only one sheet with the hole-position test print and hold it up to the light to check that the front and back crosshairs overlap.
Are the 2027 Korean public holidays included? How is an undated monthly planner different?
If you enable Korean public holidays, dated monthly and weekly pages show holiday names and red dates from the official Korean calendar for 2027. Dates from 2028 onward are calculated from holiday rules and marked as projected; election days and temporary holidays are not included. Undated monthly pages leave the year and date numbers blank, keeping only the weekday grid for any month. Choose them in the additional-page settings if you start midyear or want to reuse the pages.
Do the inserts include illustrations? Are the settings I enter saved?
Inserts are drawn with lines and numbers only, without illustrations, so they use less ink and the file is light. If you add a cover, a blank space with a faint border is included where you can attach a photo or a sticker. Size, hole, and insert settings are used only to make the preview and the PDF in the current browser, and they are not sent to a server or stored.
