MapleStory emblem gallery
Why use this MapleStory emblem gallery?
Some users want to draw a new emblem or resize their own image to 17x17; others want a finished design to start with. This gallery serves the latter. It combines 220 Toolvil originals, 80 presets from the emblem editor and 200 CC0 designs whose recorded sources identify reuse terms. Choose a design here, then download it or continue in the editor. The files are pixel artwork; game upload rules still depend on your region and server.
A 17x17 image has only 289 cells. Complex logos lose their shape when reduced, and letters with many strokes become hard to read. The original designs therefore emphasize clear silhouettes: shields, crowns, weapons, flames, wings, stars and moons, runes, jewels and nature. There are also 14 Hangul consonant badges and 26 Latin initial badges for guild names. The editor presets add hearts, stars, animals, food and expressive faces.
Every design has an actual-size 17x17 view, an 8x enlargement and a sample game nameplate. A design that looks good enlarged can still blur at its final size. Color variants help match your guild’s style. Downloads are JPG or PNG; consult the upload guide for your game region before using them. The preview illustrates appearance and does not guarantee that every regional game client will accept the file.
Use it in cases like this
- Choosing a shield, crown or star quickly when you have no time to draw. The Korean guide’s GP 225,000 example is a regional requirement, not a universal upload rule.
- Using an initial badge such as ㄱ, ㅁ, A or K to represent the first letter of your guild name.
- Replacing a photo or large logo that loses its shape at 17x17 with a clearer symbol.
- Starting from a design you like, then changing a few cells to your guild colors in the editor.
Checklist before applying
- Check that the design is recognizable in the actual 17x17 preview.
- Check your region’s game UI and official upload rules. Guild level 10 and GP 225,000 are the cited Korean guide’s conditions. GP means in-game guild points.
- Check that your modified design is not confusingly similar to another guild, trademark or well-known logo.
- Remember that a transparent PNG lets the background show through, while a JPG includes a white background.
How to use an emblem design
- Choose a category that fits the mood from the full list.
- Search for a keyword such as shield, crown, heart, cat, ㄱ, A or CC0.
- Select a card and compare the actual 17x17 preview with the 8x enlargement.
- Choose a color variant to match your guild. Select Original to return to the original colors.
- Download a transparent PNG or a white-background JPG when the design is ready.
- For pixel edits, open the emblem editor, use the pen, fill or flip tools, then save.

Criteria for choosing quality
Judge an emblem at its actual size rather than by its enlarged preview. At 17x17, the silhouette, central accent and color contrast matter more than fine detail. A clear design keeps its shape when one or two colors disappear and stands out on a dark game UI. The 220 originals use dark outlines, 3~6 colors and symmetry. Each of the 9 shape categories combines 5 basic forms with 4 decorations, such as a border, base or sparkle, giving 20 designs per category.
Keep letter badges simple. Long text and complex syllables become unclear in a tiny grid, so these badges use one Hangul consonant or one Latin initial with thick strokes. Compare the small preview beside a nameplate before deciding whether it represents your guild clearly.
Ways to refine a design further
Edit in the emblem editor opens the selected design and color variant in the drawing view. Originals use the editor’s 32-color palette, so their cells transfer unchanged. CC0 designs and recolored versions are matched to the nearest palette colors when necessary. The editor offers a pen, eraser, fill, color picker, undo, horizontal and vertical flips and 90° rotation. Change a few cells, add an initial or adjust the colors before saving.
For a more distinctive emblem, use the gallery as a concept reference and create a new 17x17 design from your own image in the editor. This can reduce overlap with other guilds and make the symbol more specific to your guild name.
Sources and scope of use of externally published designs
The 200 CC0 designs come from OpenGameArt’s Shields CC0, Shields 2 CC0, CC0 Shield Icons. They include shield artwork credited to SnoopethDuckDuck, Cethiel, hernandack, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup contributors, 7Soul1, babysamurai, OpenClipart contributors and ScratchIO. The same recorded source archives used by the Lineage emblem gallery were converted again for a 17x17 grid.
The original pages identify these works as CC0 1.0, allowing copying, modification and commercial use under its terms. Transparent areas were cleaned and the artwork fitted to 17x17 with nearest-neighbor sampling. Downloads use the same pixel arrangement. Source archive URLs and SHA-256 hashes are retained in the repository’s source manifest. Other rights, such as trademarks, can still apply.
Being published online, or having no copyright notice, does not by itself mean that free use is allowed. This gallery excludes community and blog designs whose license is unclear from collection, and adds only materials whose redistribution and modification terms can be checked in the original text.
The 500 designs consist of 220 Toolvil originals, 80 editor presets and 200 CC0 adaptations at 17x17. Check the official game guidance for your region’s upload conditions and image policy.
